Towards Insight - Contemplations of the BuddhaThis is another matching set of excellent guided meditations from Dayanandi and Ratnaguna. Here we are introduced to the practice of Buddhanussati – recollecting the Buddha by dwelling on his great qualities. The reflections are based on epithets for the Buddha from the Tiratana Vandana ('Salutation to the Buddha') and is one of the earliest of Buddhist practices.
Produced for the 'Towards Insight' module of the Dharma Training Course for Mitras (year four, module 6).
Towards Insight - Contemplation of ImpermanenceHere is a pair of guided meditations where we are encouraged to reflect on the impermanent nature of things, an essential element of Buddhist practice. Beautifully led by Dayanandi and Ratnaguna.

Twenty Four Nidana ReflectionThis is guided reflection on the 24 nidanas led by Dhivan, to accompany the 'Conditionality' module of the Dharma Training Course for Mitras (Year 2).
The 12 cyclical nidanas of the Wheel of Life and the 12 positive nidanas of the Spiral path are studied as part of the Conditionality course. Their full meaning however is best appreciated through reflective contemplation. Dhivan here offers a few words concerning each nidana followed by short periods of silence for quiet contemplation.
The 24 nidana reflection given here is a simplified version of the one devised by Sangharakshita.
Learning the Metta BhavanaKavyasiddhi gave this talk on the Christmas Oasis Retreat at Taraloka. She says: "It's an accessible talk, given on a retreat open to people of all levels of meditation experience, which shares a personal account of mistaking the Metta Bhavana for a 'manufacture and distribution' process and coming to see it as a key to stop 'fighting' my experience; and how I see the practice as an act of faith in the connected, potential filled Reality, described by the Buddha.
And I look at what metta is and the implications for doing the practice - on one's own mind and, in potential, for the world."
Given at Taraloka, December 2009
Please note, the original sound recording of this talk was of low quality and this comes through on the online version.

Reflections on the ElementsThis is the first guided reflection in the series 'Night Lily Garden of the Midnight Way - Emptiness and the Great Compassion'.
Change Your Mind - Body Awareness And RelaxationChange Your Mind by Paramananda was one of the best-selling meditation books produced by the FWBO. Paramananda's considerable experience of meditation and in social work led him to an approach to sitting practice that tried to take account of the whole person, body and 'soul'. Judging by the popularity of his teaching he seems to have hit on something vital to forming an enduring positive relationship with meditation as a way to transform your sense of self and of life.
Paramananda recorded taped audio guides to meditation for Dharmachakra in 1998, intended to complement his book. His generosity in doing so was considerable, as after an initially very successful sales period he waived his royalties to help support our own work. It's a genuine pleasure therefore to be dusting off those old tapes now and bringing them back to the attention of meditators everywhere, in the same free spirit as they were given to us.
Reflection on the Blue SkyThis is the third guided reflection in the series 'Night Lily Garden of the Midnight Way - Emptiness and the Great Compassion'.
